The journey to creating Refindr began when Sean, now the CEO, set out to simplify and streamline his property investing process. As an experienced investor, he knew how time-consuming and complex it could be to find the right opportunities. Yet, despite searching, he couldn’t find a tool that brought everything together—data, insights, and analysis—in a way that worked for investors like him. Recognising this gap, he envisioned a platform that could do just that.
Sean reached out to Tim, a skilled software developer, and Mike, a marketing expert with years of experience—and several successful property investments under his belt. Sean’s vision immediately struck a chord with Mike, who understood the frustrations of managing investments without the right tools. Tim, too, saw the opportunity to combine cutting-edge technology with real-world investing challenges. Together, the trio set out to create a solution that wasn’t just another property tool but an all-in-one platform to empower investors.
The result was Refindr—a user-friendly app built to help investors of all experience levels find, analyse, purchase, and manage residential properties. Leveraging Sean’s deep investing knowledge, Tim’s technical expertise, and Mike’s hands-on experience as a property owner, the team designed a platform that delivers practical tools, personalised insights, and time-saving features. Meet the Founders
Sean Thurlow
CEO/Co-Founder
Sean started investing in residential properties at 18, amassing 23 years of experience. By 30, he semi-retired but soon realised he needed more fulfilment. As a qualified electrician, he runs an almost fully automated electrical business with a team of four, allowing him to pursue projects he enjoys.
Friends and family often seek his advice on achieving similar success, and he sees Refindr as a way to help a wider audience gain the freedom he’s found through property investing. He credits his success to various coaches in business, life, and leadership, and his most significant mentor has been his wife, Naomi, with whom he has shared over 20 years.
Tim Pullyn
Chief Technology Officer/Co-Founder
Tim owns a Business Application Development company, Digital Diligence Limited, which has a growing team of 10. Tim is also a co-owner of Zest Creative.
Tim has an amazing logical mind his great articulation to bridges the knowledge of real-world language to computer language and technology outcomes for his team to achieve success.
Mike Kumagai
Chief Marketing Officer/Co-Founder
Mike is the creative genius of the team and excels at marketing and with aid of his team at Zest Creative comes up with great marketing strategies for Refindr, which will all but guarantee the success of the company.
Mike is an entrepreneur at heart and has his finger in a few pies. He travels back and forth to Japan, where he has (with his wife) a business purchasing, renovating, and managing investment properties.
Naomi Thurlow
Co-Founder
Naomi has always been a reliable sounding board for Sean, supporting him in all his ventures. With a creative mindset that complements Sean’s logical approach, they make a great team.
A qualified teacher from New Zealand, she shifted to part-time pilates teaching after having their son, Ari, and enjoys it immensely. Naomi contributes her creative flair to the business and plays a key role in decision-making
